Reusable Surgical Gowns

Proper use and care of your La Forma Surgical Gown is extremely important to ensure safety and get the maximum number of uses from the gown. The gowns are non-sterile, reusable surgical apparel intended to be washed and sterilized prior to each use, and worn by healthcare professionals to help protect both the patient and the healthcare worker from the transfer of microorganisms, body fluids, and particulate matter.

How To Wear The Gown

Donning and doffing the gowns is simple. The video below goes through the proper steps of gown use along with other PPE used in a healthcare setting. Visually inspect the gown to ensure that it has been donned properly and that the torso and arms of the wearer are not exposed due to rips or improper use. The Level 3 Surgical Gown has been rated for 50 use/wash/sterilize cycles. Following these cycles, the gown should be properly disposed of or recycled.

Caring For Your Gown

The Level 3 Surgical Gown has been rated for 50 use/wash/sterilizecycles. Following these cycles, the gown should be properly disposed of or recycled.

Wash Instructions

1. Wash garment at 160F for 25 minutes until thoroughly cleaned.
2. Inspect garment until no visual contamination appears on the gown.
3. If gown does not appear clean, or visual contamination occurs, repeat step 1 until no visual contamination appears.

Drying Conditions

1. Dry at medium to high heat setting (120-160F) until garment is dry.

Sterilization Guidelines

1. Autoclave recommended sterilization parameters:
Per Cycle-
Time: 15 Minutes
Temperature: 121C (250F)
Pressure: 1.5kg/cm2

2. Standard UV light sterilization process is another option that is recommended if autoclave is unavailable.
3. Once gown has been sterilized, an FDA-cleared wrap is recommended to maintain sterility until use.
